We are sorry to announce the sudden and untimely demise of Swami Priyarupanandaji (Sudarshan Maharaj), Head of Bhubaneswar Math, on 10 December at about 6.30 am at Bhubaneswar centre at the age of 54. Till the previous night he was active and cheerful. However, on the 10th morning, when he was not seen around, the monks of the Ashrama went to his room and found him lying unconscious on the bed. The doctor was called immediately who declared that he had died owing to a massive heart attack. An initiated disciple of Swami Bhuteshanandaji, he joined the Order at Thrissur centre in 1982 and had Sannyasa from his Guru in 1992. He served at Thrissur Math for seven years and Bhubaneswar centre for twenty‑one years, including two years as its head. Gentle, unassuming and always ready to serve others, the Swami endeared himself to all who came in contact with him.
